Lawyer - International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution

The team

Liedekerke’s international arbitration practice is made up of 12 lawyers advising and representing clients in international arbitration proceedings, arbitration-related court cases and international disputes.

With extensive expertise in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, we also play a leading role in arbitration-related court proceedings in Belgium and abroad, including enforcement and setting-aside proceedings.

Your role

As a lawyer in our International Arbitration and Dispute Resolution team, you will:

  • represent clients in international arbitrations (both institutional and ad hoc).
  • handle setting-aside and enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments in Belgian and abroad.
  • advise on disputes related to a wide range of matters, including engineering & construction, commercial contracts, M&A, and international law.

What we look for

We are looking for a bright associate who has:

  • an outstanding knowledge of English, together with native-level proficiency in French. Additional languages would be an advantage.
  • excellent academic results from a Belgian university. An LL.M. from an English-speaking jurisdiction would be a strong plus
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in dispute resolution, with a marked interest in international arbitration.
  • Experience and willingness to work on large international construction arbitrations would be a strong plus
  • Excellent legal reasoning
  • nice to work with, problem-solver, with a hands-on attitude
  • eager to learn, client-focused, and highly motivated.
