Unikids Daycare is one of our newest additions and overlooks the beautiful wooded surroundings of the Karmel in Waregem. Daily management is in the hands of team coach Lana Leyman.

Operations

Unikids is a small-scale daycare with a team of 5 childcare workers. We provide care for 14 children aged 0–3 years. At the moment, there is still room for 18 children, but starting in October 2025, the ratio will be reduced to 14 children.

With us, the development and well-being of each child come first. Around 9 a.m., we start the day with a cozy circle time, where Jules and Madelief warmly welcome everyone. It’s a special moment to come together, sing, and begin the day. Afterwards, we select the child of the day – a great honor! This child gets to help pick up the bread and decide which toys we will use that day. We follow the rhythm of each child: some may curl up for a nap, while others eagerly join in the morning activity. And as soon as the weather allows, we head outside together – because playing in the fresh air is the best thing there is!

We also enjoy a wonderful collaboration with our neighbors from VZW Curando, and every month we organize a fun activity with the residents of De Karmel day center. Whether it’s making soup together, coloring a beautiful drawing, or enjoying traditional games, these are heartwarming moments where young and old meet. A unique experience that both the children and the residents look forward to every time!

What we value

As soon as the first rays of sunshine appear, we take the children outside! On our spacious terrace or in the garden, they can fully enjoy the fresh air, free play, and discovering the world around them.

We believe it is important to stimulate each child’s creativity – whether through crafts, imaginative play, or exploring new things in nature. In addition, we devote great attention to personal development, so that every child can grow at their own pace and feel safe and secure in our care.
